Landscaping and Trust

Landscaping and Trust

What a great day we had this past Saturday at our new location at 900 West Main St. We had around 70 people show up and do some amazing work. We were able to clean up and clear out a lot of overgrown landscaping and make it look great. As one of our volunteers said, “It looks like someone lives here now!” This was our goal. Even though we are not yet holding services in our new location this was one of many steps to communicate to our community that we are here to stay.

Staying power is so important. Staying power helps build trust. In many ways we are in the process of building trust with our community. The way we do church is very different from the way things have been done in this area so we have to build people’s trust in this area. The building that we are moving into has it’s challenges in itself so we have to build trust with the community that we will have a top quality facility.

Most importantly however there are over 30,000 people in the area who have either lost trust in the church or have never thought of the church as a place they can trust. We are continuing to learn that most people don’t have a problem with God, they have a problem with church. We are here to rebuild that trust with people. Jesus told His disciples that He would build His church on the fact the He was the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

It is our job as the church to proclaim Christ to our community and lead people into a growing relationship with Him. To do this we have to build, and rebuild people’s trust in the church. The good news is that it is happening. We continue to hear stories of people giving God a chance, or another chance, through what you are making happen at Wiregrass Church. It is through God’s grace and your partnering with Him through your giving, serving, connecting, and inviting that Wiregrass Church happens. Thanks for that and let’s keep it up. There are tens of thousands of lives depending on it.

WITH You,

Troy
